What's the output of that URL? What shows View Source?

Is there something in the error_log of apache? Or even a segfault somewhere?

What libxml2 and PHP version are you using?

Can you edit the already existing post? ( 
http://host/admin/edit/blog/your-first-post.html )

What's the HTTP Status Code of the Response? (The apache log should tell 
you that, or LiveHTTPHeaders for Firefox)

Btw, there is no newpost.xml file somewhere, it should be taken care of 
by PHP.
