yes, works in firefox and ie.

none, quite empty logs.

right, i was unsure of this, as i found some .xml files in the package.

now, based on the other questions (and my answers), it seems clear that 
the XML parsing error is a firefox error message. in IE, i get "Action 
canceled. IE was unable to link to the web page you requested. The page 
might be temporarily unavailable."
