RSS syndication?

Hi! I'm planning to set up several Flux CMS based sites joined together, technically similar to Freeflux. I intend to follow these instructions in order to set up multiple sites with one installation http://www.flux-cms.org/How_to_be_a_CMS_ASP-Hoster_with_BxCMS but I can't figure out how to do the mainpage. What it does it to syndicate the content of all the Freeflux blogs doesn't it? Does it use read the RSS-feeds or does it access the databases directly? How could RSS be used to syndicate content (from other sites too)? cheers, Simon PS.
