John-

Last I knew, MSCMS had been moved under the SharePoint group for
product-management purposes, but not discontinued. Various other MS
tools and technologies have been put under the SharePoint umbrella, as
the company seems to want to try to hitch some of its slower-moving
offerings onto SharePoint's more rapid marketplace ride.

Listmember Bill Schneider has written a good primer on integrating MSCMS
with Sharepoint:

I heard a rumor that M$CMS has been discontinued and/or merged with
Sharepoint (this is not (yet) reflected on Microsoft's marketing site).
Does anyone have the details?
