RE: RE: cms list mission

I'd like to respectfully disagree with all the analysis of what the most
popular topic of conversation is on all of the various CMS lists.

The MAIN topic of conversation on these lists in the last year and
especially in the last six months - has been about the lists themselves...
Which list is which.  And what is acceptable vendor activity etc. etc.  For
every vendor message there are at least 3 follow up emails about appropriate
list practise.  Ho hum.

And yes, guilty as charged - With this, my first post in a couple of years,
I've just added another etiquette post in the exactly the same vein.  Don't
worry, the irony isn't lost on me.

In my opinion people should just relax about the etiquette for a few months,
and start talking about CMS issues.  I also agree that posters who want to
talk about content processes from and editorial perspective, and developers
who want to talk about CMS style sheets, and XML storage of content or
whatever, should mix it up and learn from each other.  Crickey, it's only
CMS for goodness sakes.

BTW:  Personally I'm utterly bewildered - I used to understand the CMS list,
but there are now so many lists on so many sub topics (I'm sure it's
perfectly simple to those who are interested, but I haven't had the time to
engage with enough to understand and differentiate between them.  I can't
imagine that I'm alone.  Sadly the silent majority probably won't be heard).

So a plea in order that I can continue to enjoy this list as I always used
to:- relax folks - let's just talk about tech and editorial process for a
while can we?
