Hi all,

Would any of you in the Greater Boston area like to join a new
organization and hold occasional meetings on Content Management topics?

There are already several organizations that have local meetings on
topics of interest to content managers.

Please bookmark our calendar of events in the New England area on
Knowledge Management, Information Architecture, Human Computer
Interaction, User Experiance, Human Factors, Accessibility, Usability,
and similar topics. See http://www.cmsboston.com

But there is no group planning meetings on CM. If you would like to
help launch one, send me an email. We will be scheduling an
organizational meeting, to be held at our labs in Cambridge, probably
for the week after Labor Day.

Many of the world's leading CMS vendors (as well as some spectacular
failures) are in our area. We might get those still standing to invite
us to meet at their facilities and have a top-level briefing on where
they think the industry is going, if we can prevent their marketing
types from giving us their usual sales pitch! We might get industry
pioneers (whatever they are doing now) to address our group.

And the Gilbane Conference on Content Management Technology will be held
in Boston this fall (recent ones have been in Los Angeles and San
Francisco). See http://www.gilbane.com. We can make plans for those
attending, and for meetings to report on what happened for those who
might not be able to afford to go.

In any case, we will need meeting places, with good Internet
connections, data projector, etc. Our conference room can only seat
15-20 comfortably (though we've had 30 squeezed in at times).
