We have developed a freely-available Word template which makes it easy for authors
to insert structural markup, by adding a style menu, toolbar, and keyboard
shortcuts.
You can download it from www.yawconline.com/wordtemplates/yawcOnline.dot
It also supports the insertion of Dublin Core metadata via a dialog box.

The template is designed for use with our own product, YAWC Pro/Online,
which converts Word documents straight into accessible HTML,
but it is a great template to use for writing any document,
whether for the web or not. You can also use other Word to XML/HTML converters,
and still get very good results.

We also developed a half-day training course on how to use Word to
insert structural markup. The course also tries to explain why using
carefully chosen headings is useful not just for accessibility, but
also for search engines, and browser bookmark and history features.
