Hi Cynthia,

We have spoken to both Serena & Merant about this and briefly, it was bought
mainly for Merant's change management business to go with Serena's own
mainframe-focused change management stuff. But while product development
plans are fluid as the deal hasn't closed yet, they indicated that they
would be continuuing to develop the Collage content management business as
well, but I assume your account rep could tell you more.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Nick

Subject: [CMS] Serena Software + Merant CMS Product

Hello all - One of our partners here at IU recently purchased a license for
a CMS application from Merant Products (Collage). They are very happy with
the product we are considering buying a license for the product. We just
learned that Serena Software recently purchased Merant Products. Do any of
you know about this acquisition? Was it a market consolidation move or an
expansion of their product and service line? We wonder about Serena's
commitment to supporting Merant products - in particular the CMS - over the
long-run. Thanks in advance for any information you can send our way.
