I agree their site is 'thin' on detail. I did like their flash demo but I
only clicked it was a 'web staging environment' when they got back to me to
walk me through a staging site.

At the time it looked easy when they were showing me around but when I took
myself through a later one I have to admit I was confused. That is not to
say it was not powerful
but just not entirely clear.

I had to ask them again how to set up the template and that is when they
showed me the 'master' seciton where xml like tags are wrapped around
sections of the page to produce the same result as if you had done the page
in dreamweaver...it produces any output you want back to your server or
multiple websites.

The problem is, that while I get general warnings on the failure of CMS
products I am not actually getting any 'specific' reasons why as to not use
their product.

Most of the replies I geta are from other cms vendors - and, as you have
guessed it - semi-sponsored bloggers. Actually, I don't have a problem with
this approach as long as the blogger is honest and really believes the
product will do the job. But I am starting to understand that there does not
seem to be any focused site that ranks CMS in order of performance and cost.

A google search returns:

This means there may well be a cms product that does the job but I may never
get to it.

I have also investigated other options on www.aspin.com again, very
difficult to tell how a homegrown asp/asp.net app will work without hours of
testing. Time is something I don't have and I have spent 12 months looking
for a reasonably priced package with firepower.
