I see. Sounds like custom "manual" template building process. You basically provide them with your existing HTML, and they modify it with custom tags to build the publishing tempaltes. Also, Why not host your own application? What are the benefits of having them host the database and CMS app? This is something that bothered me. They said a proof of concept for e.g. our newsletter section would take about 10 hours and factor in the ability to building archiving and various 'events' related to the newsletter etc. This they bill at $150/hour. Additionally, as I have five disparate sites with inconsistent navigation and styles (yes, I know this has to be corrected) I just have no idea how long it would take to set up these 'master' templates for various pages on various sites. OR They said a one hour training session online would make make you adept at doing this yourself provided you knew hmtl. Again, I still find the particulars of this slightly confusing but they assure me once the training is done the initial investment in setting up the templates is achiebable and worth it. It is then just a question of entering text and images into the editable regions and pressing a button to publish the page or leave an audit request/trail. Additionally, subsequent data pages could just be copied from the newly created page. I will outline some of the key criteria they claim they can deliver but I still feel uneasy although I have been extremely impressed by their pre-support and efforts to quell my technical concerns: 1. Web solution 2. Suck pages in to their hosted solution 3. Set up templates 4. Publish back content to our remote web host 5. Publish to multiple sites 6. Ability to convert end page into other media types such as pdf etc\ 7. Ability to easily 'secure' a page on any site although preference for 'window's based servers due to aspx component 8. Platform independent 99% 9 Ability to integrate signed up customers into outgoing email blasts 10 Ability to archive, audit and track changes and content 11.
