Hi Darrel,

A .NET-based CMS in higher education not to overlook is Estrada Content
Management. Being developed specifically for higher education and
embracing the new philosophy of CMS, Estrada allows administrators to
keep the site moving forward by incorporating new features, while still
maintaining central control of the look, feel, and author functionality.

For authors, Estrada stresses simplicity. Pages and sites can be
developed quickly and easily with very little training. Plenty of CMS
tools provide a simple authoring interface, but it is the level of
control you give the authors that separates CMSes.

Hi Darrel,

Another vendor pitch here...

Ektron CMS400.NET is a 100% .NET-based CMS. CMS400.NET makes extensive
use
of XML and the .NET Framework's XML-handling capabilities and also
leverages
many .NET features such as databinding, output caching, custom
HttpModules
for URL Aliasing, and others. We provide server controls for ASP.NET
that
take advantage of many of the rapid development features of Visual
Studio.
The product is fully compatible with the ASP.NET 2.0, Visual Studio
2005,
and MSSQL 2005.

One of our objectives for the product is to allow you to continue
building
web sites with the tools, technologies, and processes that you prefer.
So
although the product is based in the Microsoft Platform and has
extensive
support for MS tools and methodologies, we also provide plugins for
Macromedia Dreamweaver and front-end APIs for Classic ASP, Cold Fusion,
PHP,
and JSP. So you can have your site built in ASP.NET and also manage
HTML
content in legacy Classic ASP applications through the same system and
user
interface, and your designers can do all of their work in Dreamweaver.

ill vouch for sitecore

we have been working with them for over a year now, and have a number of
services based on v5 of the product.

fast
open api
excellent development program with regular updates
helpful customer service
growing client and partner base..

and yes we are a partner but I have worked with *many* cms solutions in
the past and sitecore outstrips most of them

This isn't a direct answer, but we did a long search for a .net CMS
about a year ago and can suggest you maybe check out
http://sitecore.com/

We didn't get a chance to evaluate it back when we did our original
research, but they seem to be continually updating and enhancing this
product.

Digimaker looks nice too, I'll have to check that out.

(And whatever you do, stay away from Web500!)
