What you describe is certainly not something that we have encountered. 
FarCry doesn't make a huge use of the createUUID() function with the 
exception of creating new content.

Daemon offers code reviews and advice on best practice for the FarCry 
platform (and ColdFusion too for that matter).  If you'd like to discuss 
these options with respect to your application, please feel free to
