This is more of a question for farcry-dev so I have cross-replied. Farcry 3 is supported on mySQL and MS-SQL, and shortly Oracle. I think after that it is personal preference if the company does not mandate what RDBMS is used. Given that fourQ does all the database work for you, you do not need a super guru DBA - just as long as you can create a new database (and difine a data source in CF Admin) you will be on your way. You should probably also know how to back up and restore that database ;-) On 7/28/06, farcry_n00b (sent by Nabble.com) <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > I have an open question for the FarCry community as a newbie setting up > his > first FarCry environment which will (hopefully) eventually see production > use... > > Our platform is Windows 2003, which is a choice beyond the scope of my > role. > Pretty much everything that runs on our web server, however, is left up to > me (though our IT guys seem to feel much more comfortable with IIS than > Apache, just because they're all Microsoft shop type guys). > > So, given an 2003/IIS6 platform to build on, and presuming CFMX 7.0.2 (and > hopefully later Scorpio), what database would an experienced FarCry > developer pick and why?
