Hi Tjeerd, On the issue of query langauges, Tamino supports XQuery and XPath, and the query language "X-Query" that was developed for Tamino before XQuery existed. XPointer, XLink, XSL, and XUpdate are not query languages. XQuery is well on its way to becoming the standard means to do queries of XML repositories through the W3C. IBM, Oracle, and BEA as well have all pledged support. This support is seen in other standardization arenas as well: there is a JSR to standardize the Java API for XQuery: XQJ. XQuery is poised to become the standard way to query XML, similar to how SQL is now used for RDBMSes. As for performance, I'd be interested to know more about your requirements there. Tamino performs excellently on large-scale production web sites and is used in commercial content management systems and in production sites.
