Hi Khaled,

I'll give you a synopsis of what I did. Our portal is running on a SuSE
Linux 9 server running JRE 1.4.2 with SR5.

Downloaded the portlet from Jahia, version 5.0.
Changed the file extension to war and tried to install it into portal.
I recieved an error about the schema.
Changed the portlet.xml to include schema info:
<portlet-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_1_0.xsd"
version="1.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_1_0.xsd
">
Repackaged up the portlet and installed successfully into portal.
I added the portlet to a page and it rendered, as follows:
(Embedded image moved to file: pic02725.jpg)

I then filled in the values as follows:
(Embedded image moved to file: pic02343.jpg)

When I click "Next Step" it just returns me to the Step 1 screen with
   the values cleared:
(Embedded image moved to file: pic04975.jpg)

This is why I amended the property files manually.

I created the db and ran the 2 sql scripts to create the tables and do the
data dump.

I got the same behaviour when I used HSQLDB with default values.

Thanks,
/Alex

Hi,

JForum portlet downloaded from Portlet-Jahia repository is 2.1.5 . Here

http://www.jforum.net/install_no_wizard.jsp

, it's steps for 2.1.7 and I am not sure that it works with 2.1.5.

After portlet deployment, did you have an error ? Why you can't use
install wizard?

"Values entered in this screen would not stick"
What are these values?

Have you try to use HSQL (only testing for jfroum-portlet feature)?

The wizard create database structure and defaul values --> if you don't use
install wizard, did you create this structure?

Regards,
KT.
