Idea for website makeover

Hi everyone,

yesterday we discussed the sorry state of our website. Today I tried to 
give it a fresh look and add some text snippets to provide a quick overview.

Since our website design contest didn't fly I thought I could come up 
with something new myself.

Maybe we can quickly discuss the contents here? Any suggestions are very 
welcome.
