Rather look at what your potential customer require and focus on that. It helps imensly if it also interests you and your somewhat additicted to the subject matter. Hard work still wins the day combined with a little luck. In short, their are no restrictions or impediments from this end...:) If plone is really something that interests you then the learning method should be as follows: python, zope, dtml, page templates, then plone specific design elements and parameters.
