As mentioned before we are very much interested in contributions. On the other side we a realistic on the possible scope. OGo is quite a complex system and this is not easy to get up to speed (well, unless you did some serious Objective-C/WebObjects development before). Maybe you got that wrong from my statement where I said that initial development in a closed group is a good thing. This gives a stable base to work upon and form a better product in the long run. Nevertheless, even after 5 years, 50%+ of the code are likely to be SKYRIX code, just because that happens to be the core "framework" to build upon ;-) Actually this is also pretty similiar to Python, Linux or Apache, few core developers, a lot of of contributors around the core which are not really involved in it. Plone is another example for that, 95%+ Zope, 5%- custom code. > BTW: what is the company policy? are you going to accept a > (technically sound) > patch that also add "Portions Copyright (c) 2004 Joe Hacker released > under > the GPL" This has _nothing_ to do with 'company policy'. OGo is an open project and does accept reasonable patches (as long as the license is compatible). As mentioned given the "unusual" techniques involved, there are already quite a number of external! contributors. Actually this is why a good MacOSX port of OGo is quite important - this is the best source for developers which know OGo technologies.
