Time will tell I guess if > this topic gains traction and the request is warranted. > > /ch > this topic is of great interest to me... however i haven't felt like i have anythhing to contribute as yet. well i'll give it a shot. horribhly obvious things first. 1) voip is good. asterisk is god and should be supported as it seems to be the best in open source. 2) my micro customers need a great deal of convincing to change from their known-and-familiar-but- quite-terrible-and-expensive methods of doing business. a reliable phone package might be just the thing to get them to take the risk and move off the licensing treadmill. 3) my observation: switching or adding groupware to their processes doesn't seem to be enough incentive by itself at this time. besides, many don't even make use of the groupware features they already have. 4) everybody can immediately see the savings and convenience of a reliable and affordable phone system and this can be immediately plugged into a roi calculation. this could tip the decision makers to seriously consider an open source... so if you are like myself and are trying to sell a complete solution to micro clients, asterisk support make a great deal of sense. -- kelley g oooooooooooooooooooooooooo http://toasterz.com http://exchangekiller.com oooooooooooooooooooooooooo -- OpenGroupware.org Discussion [email protected] http://mail.opengroupware.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
