Actually, something like that could be done in an HTML/JS interface.  A CMS system called PostNuke (and some other PHP based CMS's) used a table in the db to store PHP session ID's, linked against logins & IP addresses.  It was part of the whole security infrastructure of the CMS (it prevented logins from multiple browsers) but it allowed for PHP-based IM system "modules" to put messages on-screen.

Maybe something like that could work for OGo <-> Asterisk CID/CRM integration.  Or even for OGo <-> Jabber Integration (WebUI interface for Jabber when logged into the WebUI)
