No, it isn't. One workaround is to create a private contact instead of
a resource.

Its not really difficult, its just some amount of "plain" work. Eg for
the roles you need to enhance each part which currently checks for
'root' and fix that part to use a certain role, then enhance the UI to
deal with that.
So, as mentioned, should be straightforward, but is real work.
