One of the linux communities openly stated goals is to displace windows. However, they have been going about it in opinion the wrong way. The opensouce community has concentrated their efforts in two areas. The desktop and standalone sevices such a SMTP severs or DNS servers. Now they have done well in this area but in no way will those services kill AD or XP. As an MS system Admin I cannot imagine asking my users to use Fedora with a gnome desktop.
What the linux opensource community should be concentrating on is a project like yours. However, your product does not go far enough. What I need as MS Admin to replace my exchange server is a product like yours with a "Linux logon client for Windows" think novell client for windows. With your product and a "Linux logon client for Windows" I could kill my exchange server and smash my AD server to pieces.
With my windows servers gone I could then concentrate on the desktop.
Build it ("Linux logon client for Windows" ) and they will come.
