Yes, as mentioned it something own. And no, there is no documentation 
on it ;-)

The exporter walks over the .html files inside the filesystem tree and 
uses the templates to render each of them. Rendering always starts at 
Main.xtmpl and templates are inherited to subcollection (somewhat 
similiar to template acquisition in Zope).

There is an exporter tool which is started by some small makefiles:
   http://svn.opengroupware.org/www/home/trunk/cms/

The current process to update the site is:
a) change the page in a local checkout
b) checkin the changes
c) login to developer.ogo, run the exporter (~15 minutes)
d) check whether the export went fine
e) pack the export, scp it to www and unpack the export

PS: my favorite solution would be to rewrite the CMS! - I think I could 
build quite a cool CMS using SOPE on top of Subversion ;-) Now if only 
I had the time ;-|
