Not that this is relevant for the discussion, but of course Svn has full support for WebDAV (Svn itself is based on an extended WebDAV protocol). Not to mention tools like TortoiseSVN which blend Svn with Windows Explorer and have much better usability and functionality than plain WebDAV or FTP. BTW: I think I have seen Svn storage backends for Zope too. But researching that and performing a proper installation using them should be a major project.
