Are you asking what it would look like from a client like cadaver?

OK. Now I'm really confused. I'm in opengroupware looking at a contact
and applying read and write permissions of accounts and teams applied to
a contact.
So what are you attempting to convey???
I'm considering that maybe the reason for that limitation is the lack of
a client being able to "see" Contacts under groups. Am I off base
considering that a possibility??

In outlook, how else would a user apply permissions to a contact other
