I agree that sig and date stamps dont show well as content on pages
I thought if we we need to make decisions, it would be good if people could
express their thoughs on a particular issue by appending their signature to
a comment
For example, to a question 'how shall we do this' people could say what
they think and stick their signature. This can easily be done by hand, so
no problem there

should this become a requirement in the future it will be good to find ways
around it

media wiki has a decent implementation of that feature I think

but the comment feature would be nice, unless someone is against it, I wold
have it activate it

I ll point our remote participants to this channel on Sunday thanks, we'll
be using it
to discuss our ongoing projects in the future too, let us know if we have
to move our talks elsewhere (dont expect much traffic anyway)

the web interface is particularly useful to those of us who like me have on
and off probs with mozilla chat I dont know why (maybe firewall or other
network settings)

I understood you needed to reinstall it on other server, there was a
mention somewhere on the wiki - so if necessary I can make some space
available

What is your goal?
If people want to see who wrote what, they can check the history. If people
want to share personal opinions / editorials, they can use their UserPage.

A wiki page is not the best tool to discuss / debate. Mailing lists &
discussion forums are better at that. Wiki is best to build content
together and should be our consensus. If there are diverging points of
views, we can split a wiki page in two or make two pages.  Ex.:
ProjectColomboAgainst & ProjectColomboFor  If we are looking to prioritize
a limited number of resources, we can use a tracker to allocate A, B C
priorities to each project / task.

If you still want  "Date and time stamp" there are 2 options

1. Someone please show me a nice example of implementation (for inspiration
to add this feature).
2. I activate the comments features, which shows nice threaded comments
below the page.

Don't spend anytime trying to setup an IRC server. There are plenty of free
networks.

Yes, you can use the #oscom channel (supplied by freenode) with the
web-gateway (supplied by cgi-irc/linux-quebec).  Hopefully, one day, so
many initiatives will be using these types of resources that we'll need to
split the load, make new rooms, etc  :-)   That will be one of those nice
problems.
