well, I think (as I said many times before) work on projects which 
create interest groups with common goals, e.g.

- JCR not just for Java
- Common Wiki Definition (Syntax and Functionality)
- Blog (Atom Syntax and API)
- OpenDocument
- OSR-101
- ....

but it seems to me that nobody actually wants to do this, so I stopped 
promoting it (except this time ;-)
