Yes, because for the reasons you mention below, "open source" means just
that -- the source is open (available) or in other words, "free, as in
freedom". I'm not interested in a non-legal entity arbitrarily reviewing
and approving licenses based on their definition of the term.

I said I understood its position. I just don't agree with it and it goes
against why I joined. I will unsubscribe to the list following this email.
