Yep, that's the most low-tech, high-chance-of-happening way to do it.

We should set a deadline for when the nominating period ends.  I  
don't particularly think we need more than a week to let people  
indicate their interest.  But if folks think we'd benefit from a  
longer period, that's fine too.

I'm personally in favor of an IRC meeting.  Voice is hard to manage  
and favors native English speakers, IMO.

If it would help increase the turnout, we could do a two-time member  
meeting.  Meaning, on the chosen day, have one time that's friendly  
to the Europeans and another that's friendly to other timezones.   
Less productive, but I'm more concerned about participation and  
willing to try something to improve it.

I suggest we split those into different steps.

Since I'm trying to avoid getting shot at dawn by the revolutionary  
guard, I'd like to have the board election ASAP. :^)  The new board  
can then shepherd the process of soliciting bylaw changes, organizing  
the member vote on changes, etc.

We should decide before the vote how many board members to have.  The  
bylaws say:

"""

Just to start the ball rolling, I propose 5.
