Provided it gets approval by the OSCOM community on collective activities

I dont think anyone should do anything unless it has been
discussed/approved by the community in some form. And I dont mean
approved by the 'board' or a selection of friends who may support each
other interests - this is what happens in politics a lot - but
approved as 'discussed' in a democratic open forum (such as this
list).

One of the problems that can arise when things are done in the open is
that decisions are sometimes not made. People argue and argue and can
become bitter and nothing ever gets done.
We need to strike a balance between being open to (constructive)
discussions, and getting things done - agreed on that. People should
take initiative, and should encourage others to participate where
there is a constructive compatibility and/or to take other initiatives

 But unless we crack the 'online democracy' nut by allowing community
participation and seeking some level of consensus at all, we have lost
the online community battle. - OSCOM is an online community, right?

 I am sure there many on this list - on the internet, in the world -
who are working hard to make things happen on the internet as a free,
creative, open space. Their primary goal
is knowledge creation and sharing values - and the pie.

I am equally sure that there are a people whose primary goal is
making money and gaining fame, and knowledge sharing is just a
marketing tool for them.

This is why I think we need to work out our rules before we start to
play. I myself hope we can find an open system for self governance -
so that potential conflicts can be
combed out before we get caught in

I suggested earlier that we try a clear mission/goals, also obviously
we need a roadmap (interoperability, CMSML, what you guys have in
mind)

And some truly open and robust self-governance rules, perhaps

Let me remind everybody that we now have a great WIKI where after discussing
your ideas you should also be posting

Please all OSCOM members old and new enter a profile and some vision
and ideas so that we can get to know each other -
