well, Jackrabbit is the reference implementation of JSR-170/JCR, whereas 
Slide
has it's own API, but AFAIK is actually very similar.

as said above Slide has actually the same goal as Jackrabbit, but the 
APIs differ
a bit (please correct me if I am wrong on this). I think Slide mapped WebDAV
onto its API as Jackrabbit does now (just recently a WebDAV mapping has 
been contributed to Jackrabbit, whereas I am not sure if this contrib is 
actually using parts of Slide)

I think the intention was there and maybe still is, but I guess you

AFAIK Graffito is a CMS/F based on the Portal Server Jetspeed, whereas 
Lenya is a CMS/F
based on Cocoon.

Slide and Jackrabbit are considered "pure" Content Management Frameworks 
focusing
on the Data Abstraction Layer

It might be confusing, but even within Apache there is not just one CMS 
or one CMF or one Logging project ;-)

It's all about evolution and what environments you are comfortable with.

For instance if you like XML, XSLT and Java then I would suggest one is 
using Apache Lenya, but of course I am *very* biased ;-)
