 Hi devs,
I can confirm that on Ubuntu 20.04 not only installation but installed tikis don't connect to the databases.  Neither can create new ones with root user ar admin rights users. I  have been trying to find out why for the last 4 days.At first I blamed my newbiness to ubuntu (I am switching from Arch because ovh is no longer supporting it.)Then Fastpanel, ISPConfig, nginx etc. That's why i haven't asked questions... And kind of was waiting who blinks first...
I checked connections with my own installer mysqli improvements. They seems OK. At the moment I narrowed down the problem up to the line with comment "Installer knows db details but no login details"and then that session details are deleted or a new sesion is created with no reason.Maybe someone else is working on this? Any suggestions what settings to check? writable session path (i did 777)? cookie settings? Pdo problems?

 Hi Gary and Bernard

Thanks for the pointer, Bernard.

Gary, I tried with Firfox, and got same buggy issue they seem to have,
but with Chromium the comment form allows users (even anons) to post
comments in the text area.

I replied them with:

Dear David Albert, sorry for the late reply.

Can you please provide some feedback about the official documentation to
install Tiki (LTS) on Ubuntu (LTS)?

It's here:

https://doc.tiki.org/Ubuntu+Install

I confirm that havinng Tiki running as usual in recent Ubuntu versions
(such as 20.04 LTS and some earlier STS) became bumpy (way more "fun"
than before), but It's working. I offer to check and update whatever is
needed in the offficial documentation of Tiki to keep it updated.

And Muhammad Arul, thank your for your tutorial, looks awesome, and
I'd like to try it too when I have a chance in the next summer weeks, so
that I can confrm whether some of your steps are required / updated with
current state of the start ubuntu packages (mysql root by default seems
not to use the same passs schema as before, etc). You may miss some
rules in the apache conf file if the user attempts to login temporarily
without https, etc. And I'm not sure if "ufw" is enabled by default
(maybe yes, I dont remember, I have to try again in a brand new server).
Thanks anyway for the work you have done so far, it's always good to
see/get other approaches to get things done.

-------------------

It's not listed there publicly yet as it requires manual approval by
someone, apparently (tried again as registered user in their site, -
they are the authors of the ISPConfig3 (FLOSS) Control Panel and I've
used their site inthe past - and same effect, comment reply requires
manual approval by someone).

Best

Xavi

P.S: I'm looking forward to have a look at what happened in Tiki in the
last months (great work evveryone! I've watched almost all bbb
recordings already, and git pulled branch 23 and trunk already also). I
hope to have a go at updating the "what's new wizard" (if that still
exists within the Tiki UI in the Wizards section)
