Hi, Maybe a good roundtable meeting topic. I have similar feelings about surveys, polls, FAQs, directory, those little My Account features, etc. They aren't as good as they could/should be, but there isn't much motivation to improve them. They could each be replaced with a combination of tracker and wiki page, etc., no doubt, but somebody would have to figure that out and document it, and make a profile maybe. So if they don't get revamps, should they be left as is or removed? If they're left as is, maybe they work well enough to meet somebody's needs. If they're removed, Tiki's "the most features" claim erodes. I don't recall any complaints about these, so either they're working for people or they aren't and it isn't important enough for people to submit a report. My dream scenario is that all these minor features, that can be, would be remade using Tiki's stronger and continuously maintained features like the wiki and trackers. Maybe to better ensure that these minor features stay up to date, they could be "system trackers" or "default trackers", so they would be in the code base, like the default menu, instead of at profiles.t.o where they would probably be ignored. (This idea was brought up at one of our meetings some time ago.) Going this route would also be good for the idea of "no code/low code" development in Tiki because people would have more examples of how to do things with Tiki's major features, and it would be easier to customize or extend them, etc. than when they're made with PHP and Smarty files. And relevant capabilities as well as improvements in the wiki or tracker would benefit these minor features, too. We can imagine how they would benefit from some of the tracker capabilities like connection to a calendar, reporting, etc. And maybe they'd be more likely to getsome vue.js treatment this way. -- Gary On 10/12/2021 10:48 PM, Bernard Sfez via TikiWiki-devel wrote: > Hello, > > I revisited the Tiki Quizz Feature. > While it have some unique options that allow to create quickly a Quizz > or Test the interface is awkward and is not adapted for the usage > (Create a quizz easily) > > I don’t see it in endangered features: > https://dev.tiki.org/Endangered-features > I don’t see some “neglected” or “deprecated” warning on the > documentation pages, https://doc.tiki.org/Quiz and > https://doc.tiki.org/Quiz-User > > But it seems like the feature hasn’t been updated and adapted to 2021 > web expectation. > > Does people use it ? > Should we add it as candidate for removal ? > Or should we start a plan to improve (feature request in tracker5) ? > > Bernard > > > _______________________________________________ > TikiWiki-devel mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tikiwiki-devel _______________________________________________ TikiWiki-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tikiwiki-devel
