I agree we should discuss those “little” features.

This TRM is really crowded but the next I hope.

While I suggest we start on a Wiki page I’d like also to share my feelingS.

The on/off features
We should keep a minimum of “on/off” features, features a new admin can enable and disable without having to dive deep in trackers or to install a profile.
Like we have and keep Forums, Blogs, etc we should keep some nice little features publishable in minutes.

As long as we don’t have a super-easy way to allow new admins to enable (create) a Forums from Trackers we need to keep a ready to use few features  (see below).


Replacing with Trackers.
Almost everything in Tiki can be done using Wiki pages and Trackers.

While I really like this way, we critically lack of “helpers” for new admins and we would need a much better doc.
For years we discuss how we could improve profiles (even the name of it) and it is how it is.
I don’t think it will be a good move to replace features with trackers the way things are now.


Cleaning the little features
We need first to list them, then to discuss what worth an effort and what doesn’t.
For exemple, FAQ or Directory would be removed as tracker do perfectly and very easily the job.

For the ones we decide to keep, a first move would be to make them presentable (and bootstrapped).
This is time but can be done by non-coders (which is good) ;-)
IE: Poll feature is working, may have light bugs but it need essentially some visual modernisation and better admin interface.

Also we should group the tickets (tracker5) under each one so we have a better idea on where we are.

Eventually we could group those little features that are alike.
By that I mean Quizz, Pools and Surveys (and we have also https://doc.tiki.org/Pluginexercise) have similarities and may be we could try to evaluate merging/revamp them into one feature so we maintain a single feature with several options, instead of several features that do sort of the same.

Time for a Wiki page… ;-)
