[Tiki-devel] Proposal to Replace simile_timeline with vis-timeline in Tiki

Hi Community,

I would like to open a discussion regarding the potential replacement of
the simile_timeline library currently used in Tiki.


Regarding simile-timeline existing in Tiki, the library is no longer
maintained; the last remote commit was 13 years ago. It is a package we can
declare dead.


Therefore, I would like to propose replacing it with vis-timeline, which
already has everything smile-timeline has but with advantages such as:


Customization: vis-timeline offers great flexibility in terms of
customizing timeline elements, including colors, shapes, and interactions.

Scalability: It is capable of handling a large number of elements without
compromising performance.

Community Support: vis-timeline has an active community.
