Hello everybody,

I am admin of a site and have a menu ... ok, obvious o some extend.

Menu items are applied to be visible to members of a group or to members
of several groups.
The group allocation of menues works different than with modules:

If I apply a menu item to Group A ... all users who are member of Group
A can see it.

If I apply a menu item to Group B ... all users who are member of Group
A can see it.

If I apply a menu item to Goup A and Group B ... all users who are
member of both Groups A *AND* B can see it ...
... but NOT users who are members in A *OR* B but not the other one!

=> Thus I made two menu items. One for Group A and one for Group B.

This work for the users, BUT now I as admin see two same menu items
besides each other.

I was thinking about using the permissions field, but that is no good
for a top main menu item level 0 for a Bootstrap menu. I want to show
the item for both Groups everywhere.

I was thinking to create a group only for the menu items, but I do not
want to get too many groups that do nothing but display menu items.

Currently I tend to move to a manually coded Bootstrap menu in a custom
module and there adding {module module=menu etcetera} and then display
the whole dropdown section with an smarty {if} condition. So each group
or several groups can get their specific menues.

Each horizontal main top level menu item of the custom Bootstrap menu
would get an own vertical menu.
Vertical menus would still be Bootstrap if I want and thus mobile friendly.
I would get one extra menu level compared to standard Bootstrap.
But I would habe more maintainig effort and a maintainer of the top
level menu would need some basic HTML and Smarty knowledge.

So isn't there an easier solution directly with the original Tiki menues??

Thx for hints.

Regards,
Torsten
