As I wrote in #tiki, just having support for Tiki writer in Pandoc
(https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/issues/4825) would make many things possible,
iow. it would allow:

1) to write Tiki content offline using e.g. Markdown (CommonMark|Markdown
Extra) markup in editors which are more capable for writing serious content by
allowing easy restructuring of the content's sections, having nice syntax
higlighting, keboard shortcuts to write markup etc.

2) easy converting of the content to/from Tiki by using Pandoc since
import/export is not the strongest feature of the Tiki.

All these could be achieved *without* touching Tiki codebase and make Tiki on
that par with several modern CMS-es and/or static-site-generators which do
support writing in several standard markup syntaxes lie markdown, rst,
Asciidoc, org-mode...(e.g.Hugo is today ~30K stars @github project)

WikiSyntax is great idea, but, unfortunately, its syntax is today kind of
isolated island - e.g. support for Tiki reader in Pandoc was added due to
personal need of one guy who wanted to migrate *away* from Tiki. :-(
