Hello Saša,

in short - start here: https://dev.tiki.org/Markdown

Generally: we need an expressive page on dev.tiki.org referring to new
feature projects, here the project you obviously push: 'Markdown', where
all ideas, libs, pros and cons, etcetera are conflated and all
interested Tikians with their opportunities and offers to contribute and
all related internal and external pages on dev (and doc) are mentioned.

I did not know if that page is existing, so I searched and created it
for you and all interested people ... normally that would be the task of
the person/people who push a feature and are willing to take
responsibility to organise the integration.

If you need assistance or you have too limited access to edit this page
or next time to create the initial one, you can ask the community.
I am prepared to assist to get into the "how to do" process or the "get
access" thingi and I think Marc would do so aswell, as he proofed
uncountable times, since I know him. Just we will not do it ourselves
for everybody. We just cannot. But showing how to do I find quite
efficient, if everybody helps to show the next ones ... .

There are a few people who already have shared thoughts abot Markdown
and offered support or contribution.
Those people need to know the dev page https://dev.tiki.org/Markdown for
that they can add their thoughts to that page and can find relevant
information and potential co-workers to coordinate with.

I hope that helps you and everybody who is interested to get Markdown
into Tiki, what I generally find an interesting idea by the way ...
maybe not as a replacement, but as an additional option.

Please have a look at the foolowing:

When I checked commonmark.org and quickly compared to our WikiSynax I
identified some potential limitations of Markdown towards WikiSyntax.

Please compare yourself (maybe i am wrong or I found only a limited set
of Markdown examples):

https://commonmark.org/help/

https://doc.tiki.org/Wiki-Syntax

From my point of view, Tiki's WikISyntax is far more advanced that
Markdown, which is focussed to make it as easy as possible for
non-tecchie users to work with a handy syntax instead of a WYSIWYG.

Just thoughts.

Best regards,
Torsten
