Even if it is my second statement under the same subject, I would like 
to stress out, that I was appealed by your intention of taking the 
technology out of the logo. Therefore my vote went to a lightweight 
(like a feather <g/>) logo. Even if Lenya is still based on a lot of 
technology (and will ever be) in an ideal world, Joe Average as an user 
doesn't want to know this. He want's to use the software and using it, 
has to be fun. Why shouldn't this be reflected in a logo?

Well, if I get it right, then Wyona as a product will become Lenya, as 
XPS became Wyona. It's not a common thing that one changes the name of 
the same product that often, but in this case there are reasons to do 
that. And as this has to be done, why not start whit a completely new 
look and feel?

BTW: Let you be asured, I really like the actual Wyona logo. If I look 
at it on <http://www.computerworld.ch> then
           I even find a very valuable information. This cogwheel-thing 
called Wyona is a CMS!!!

I'm against a logo like a plate. Even such a logo has some advantages 
when used as a gif. If the Logo just consists of type and a smaIl 
graphic there will be no problem to use it on a dark background. Just 
invert it. And if the outlines are available, there isn't much work 
involved if one has to adopt the logo for a  on a special background.
