The doc http://localhost:8080/wyona-cms/docs/xdocs/tutorial.html is not convenient for from-the-scratch-beginners. So far the denotation 'tutorial' is not justified - the tutorial.xml file should be renamed. In fact, this document should be located at the Documentation page, item '3.Integrator's Guide: 1.Creating a new Publication'. That means the knowledge of an 'Integrator' is assumed which includes a certain knowledge of cocoon, xml, and xsl. However, I have to admit this is not very helpful for beginners. > >In fact *do* we want new users to copy eth-mat or wouldn't it be better to >create a simple demo site ourselves for inclusion in the Wyona >distribution? It should contain the absolutely necessary steps to - install wyona - get the example projects running - create a new pub from a default pub. This default (name it 'DEFAULT' for example) should be as simple as possible. Below my comments on your comments ... Best wishes Jürgen > >Briefly list pre-requisite knowledge: XML, XSLT, *Cocoon*, and where to >find out more about those topics. > (***) yes, this is, however, out of scope of 'Integrators Guide'. But as already mentioned we need a beginners tutorial ;) >Item 2) Why call the directory standard/t01 ? if there is a reason say so, >if not, say that too. May be the wording 'Rename the ethz/mat subdirectories for *your purpose*' is not clear enough. If you have an alternate formulation that would be much appreciated. >Item 3) Explain that you *need* to modify the sitemap to take into account >the new directory (or URL path). c.f. How does one use more than one html-editor if the >directory is hardcoded into the class? Your right. This results from a known problem (look into the mailing list: http://mail.wyona.org/pipermail/wyonacms-dev/2002-June/000051.html and subsequent entries) which is - as far as I know - still not resolved :( >Item 5) Explain how the sitemaps are in fact a tree of sitemaps with the >root linking to its children, and so on. c.f. Unfortunately, from here I dont know what you are referring to. Do you mean the item '8. Revision Controller' at the main documentation page? >Item 8.1) What? Didn't know you could do this with JTidy. In fact what is >it doing? >Item 8.2) What is this ? What is this XSP for? >Item 8.3) Ditto. >Item 8.4) Do we *have* to have so many sitemaps?
