Jane is not yet on our mailing list, but she will probably join and
I told her that I will forward her mail to our list (Please see her
message below)

BTW: Gartner Group is writing a paper about Open Source Content
Management and therefore evaluted ten systems, where Wyona is one of
them. I am not sure if I am allowed to send it to the list, I guess not,
because it's supposed to be for their clients, but I will ask them!

Sorry for being quiet over the last couple of days, but I am glad I was
able to get loose a bit with my family, but on the other hand I have
to catch up with many things now.

Before I went on vacation we made quite some progress, but which has not
been communicated yet (except maybe the people which are subscribed to
the cvs mailing list and are able to decipher the cryptic cvs messages;-)

The biggest step we actually made is that I think we found a way
to make existing Cocoon publications manageable by Wyona without
having to change this existing publication.

From reading the emails from the last two weeks, I really think
we have to do something about helping people to understand Wyona
and to make use Wyona. I have been talking to Markus Vaterlaus about
this topic and I suggested something like a "Hello World" in ten steps:

1) static HTML Hello World (only Cocoon)
2) XML, XSLT Hello World (only Cocoon)
3) Adding the Wyona Toolbar
4) Making the Hello World editable with Xopus and Bitflux
5) Making the Hello World publishable
6) Making the Hello World creatable (Hello Pluto, Hello Neptun, etc.)
7) Adding Access Controlling to the Hello World

Well, Markus thought this is still too complex or maybe not what
people need to get started. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help on this (I know
you already do, but I think we need more input, and I am the wrong
person for this, because I am just too blind).

I also thought about how we can communicate better with regard to code
and documentation.
I would like to suggest that we setup another CVS repository (e.g.
wyonacms-dev), where everyone
can commit and nobody has to be afraid that something can break.

Any thoughts?

Thanks and all the best

Michael

Hi,

I'm looking for an easy way to enable content owners to directly manage
a Web site. I've explored Wyona, which appears to be very
straightforward and accessible. However, I can't see an option to create
a new page. Can this be done?

With best regards,
Jane Moch
