It's "fast enough" on my Linux 700Mhz machine and on the other windows
500MhZ machine (PIII or similar). It's much less than a second, until you
have feedback. and Typing works quite fast and reasonable.

I just heard, that typing on Macs is sometimes slow. Using the latest
Mozilla (released, not alpha/beta code) could also improve the
performance.
