Thanks for the feedback. In the end I installed Tomcat 4.1.3beta on my live 
RedHat7.2 box and installed
the latest Wyona binary and it worked first time! Thanks!

(ok ok there are still quite a few pages which don't work but hey - this is 
work in progress).

I am now going to write some of my own documentation as I learn about Wyona 
and its demo apps.
Please give me a shout of encouragement if you want to see this doc too.




Here are some notes with me logged in as wyona/levi
The following may seem like a list of faults - but in general I am very 
impressed....

I've created my own ethz-mat group within the materials department but 
can't add members to it as wyona. (Oh I can as user korosec - but only one...)

I can add members to the existing Polymer Physics department.
They come up as Prof. Dr. Lise Meitner, Prof. Dr. sc. nat., Professor of 
Applied Chemistry
This is a bit confusing. Presumably LIse is a template for new members - if 
so then it should say so, eg
the name should be "Enter Name Here", and so on.

The search facility on the left does not appear to work - there is not even 
a form tag. Is this something
Wyona can help with or should we look elsewhere for search facilities? 
presumably we have two strategies.
1) is to use something like swish-e to index a whole site and use that 
index when searching
2) use something which understands how the xml data is stored and indexes 
that instead....

This example also shows a breadcrumb navigation (the ruler like thing which 
says "Department, Polymer Physics, Members," etc. Cool.

The "Open Positions" page fails for me. Is this implemented in the demo 
yet? It would be really helpful if the un-implemented pages actually were 
real pages which perhaps said "Not implemented yet" so that we don't think 
it is a probnlem with our installation.

I can edit the top department page, but I can't add more groups to it.

There is a menu on the left with some dynamic information (eg I have added 
a test group and it appears in the list), but it isn't totally clear why it 
appears on the end of the list after the ETH Homepage. Presumably the hard 
coded links are set up by the "Designers" who may have different capabilities.

I frequently get the DocumentNotPublished error message when looking at the 
live site. This means of course that the link goes to a page which has not 
been approved yet. The solution is of course to go to the page in the edit 
view, and publish it. Is it possible to list all the unpublished pages so 
that they can be published in turn, or as a whole?


Why does it say "(Text in German)"? Is that part of the design? or is it 
part of the functionality?

I am running out of memory a lot. Is this a fault of my starting Tomcat 
without the -mX command line options, or is it simply a problem of not 
enough physical memory. (There is a lot of other stuff on this box which 
*only* has half a Gig of memory...)



More later when I look at the other demos.....
