I would be interested in this and willing to commit a few themes. Most 
likely there would have to be some basic rules and/or categories of 
theme types in order to separate custom function dependent themes from 
the generic vanilla flavor.

Maybe something along the lines of CSS Zen Garden would be an effective 
model for displaying the power of block layout as well as Xaraya's 
strong foothold in separating content from the presentation layer. 
Utilizing some basic content, blocks,  that would be standard across all 
themes designers could allow for a nifty display.
