Couple of questions:

Would anyone mind if we had a dry run on the dates mentioned and do an 
official bug fix weekend on the 13th, 14th and 15th? (Official assuming 
there is a body of power that con approve such an action.)

Also, since we are just talking about bug fixes and patches is that really 
necessary? The only people committing to core will be people, already 
approved to committing to core same goes for other modules as well. Add to 
that the news release does not have to mention a future release that was 
just part of a mock up proposal. Just thinking out loud here since there has 
been some concern that with no PMC such an event would be a bad idea

Either way glad to see all the positive feedback thus far.
