The PMC wants to know how your effort translating Xaraya can be made faster and easier. Currently, translations happen one of three ways: 1: Coordinated remote efforts of individuals 2: From the various Xaraya language sites 3: Ferenc's xarML tool Regardless of the method, getting changes into the languages repository currently requires some manual effort by someone else who has access to the server or can commit to the repository directly. So how can the process be improved to improve efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks? Here are some options we've thought of: 1: Grant targeted commit access to the reposiory. Each language branch can be set so that only the people who work on that translation can commit to it. This would allow you to work locally and follow a process closer to that of other development areas. 2: Create a new Xaraya site dedicated to translation work, such as mls.xaraya.com. As in #1, Privileges can be used to limit who can access which translations. 3: Install xarML at mls.xaraya.com. Ferenc's xarML tool seems to be popular among those who have used it. However, he is aware of the resources it requires, which our server isn't ideally suited for. These may not be the only options available, so the PMC wants to hear ideas from those who actually do this work. Our preference is that everyone agrees on a single standardized process that requires the least amount of maintenance. We want translators to be just as autonomous as anyone else.
