The term 'ownership' has a number of meanings, but in organisational project terms I think 'ownership' for a component or module in bugzilla is very apt for our community project. At least in my mind it means responsibility for conformance to various specifications that we have here in the project, such as our prior module qa checklist, syntax, and general 'fit' as a module for xaraya. Having a module owner or maintainer for a component also implies some knowledge of the module/component by that 'owner'. It can be useful as an indicator of who to ask for those wanting to know more about it, or submission of patches. Ensuring module/owners understand the role is key here, and if taken on board i think could only be beneficial for the Xaraya project. Jo
