I think the question should be: "Why NOT push instantly" and I think the answer is that many people find it hard to use monotone to manage code and want to prepare it elsewhere and do only the final step (commit and push) in the repository. I'm not sure why that is, but it seems to be the case. That said, having code snippets/patches handy for review in the bug tracker is handy, but there's nothing like code to test out directly where it needs to be. marcel
