We went with what was decided at the time, and i was instructed to use a
range. I particularly recall as i had to redo that copyright notice
numerous times in the repository, and was also asked to update the
copyright syntax in the RFC at the time to reflect the correct syntax
that was decided.

In fact, i redid those headers so many time - they got lost as well
after the anacreon merge in 1.1, and most had to be redone.

So, we took great care at the time to get the syntax right, it was
discussed ad nauseum i recall, and Marcel had the final say before we
started updating.
