Hey, Nice to see you back! My suggestion is not really that something is 'wrong' with private branches, they off course can be very useful to try things out. However, if these branches hinder the interaction with the main branch, they start a life on their own. In my opinion, at that moment, I doubt these private branches can then contribute to the main branch and vice versa. And I am not brave enough to maintain a branch for every installation I have. The amount of work is not worth it to me at least, but that is just me. Apart from this: if all work done on all private branches would have been combined on one or two branches, I would guess there would be a Xaraya release much sooner? And probably the term private branch might mean different things to other people, so please don't take it too strict. It is more about the way code is shared and presented.
